As you know, TCU is undergoing a period of significant growth and evolution in our physical campus. That evolution has made it necessary for us to quickly modernize our parking experience for the TCU community. As we excitedly await new parking options being built, we will share campus parking resources in new ways.
This year, permits are virtual (no stickers), efficient, and designed to support your daily routine. On August 4 at 1:00pm CST, the Parking Portal will open for you to purchase your parking permit online and manage your vehicle registration with ease. You will receive an email when the portal is open. We appreciate your patience as we adapt to the ongoing growth of our campus.
What you need to know:
- Virtual Parking Permits: The new system connects your permit directly to your license plate. There are no stickers.
- License Plate Recognition (LPR) Technology: In addition to manual enforcement, our parking lots are now monitored with LPR technology, allowing seamless and secure verification of your permit status.
- Portal Access Date: Access the Parking Portal starting August 4 at 1:00pm CST.
- The Leap: A new transit system will run across campus, circulating from parking lots on the West side of campus to your academic buildings on the East side of campus. More information coming soon.
- Lot Closures: There will be intermittent lot closures that require the use of lots outside of your daily routine, for both permit types.
- ADA: A permit must be purchased first, and your placard must be verified at the Parking & Transportation office.
Employee Permit Options & Parking Lot Access:
Tier 2 Permit:
- Cost: $75
- Access: Lots 1, 2, 4, 7, 11, 12, 13, 14, PV-4, Lot 24 and W. Cantey Street.
- Tier 2 permit holders may only park in Tier 2 designated lots.
- There is a reduction in Tier 2 parking lot spots available from previous years.
Tier 2 Permit:

- Cost: $250
- Access: Red-lined spaces in Lots 1 and 12, Lots 5, 8, 9, 16, 18, 20, reserved area of Garage A on the west entrance, Garage C, PV-1, PV-2, and TCU Press.
- Tier 1 permit holders may only park in Tier 1 designated lots.
- There is an increase in Tier 1 parking spots available; however, permits are first-come, first-served. No carryover from the previous year.
Helpful Tips:
- Your vehicle’s license plate number is your permit—make sure it’s visible and up to date in the portal to avoid citation.
- Full-time employees can enjoy the ease of payroll deduction when purchasing permits.
- All employees – full-time, part-time and adjunct – need a valid permit to park on campus.
- Take a moment to review parking lot maps and familiarize yourself with LPR guidelines for a smooth parking experience. Citations will be physical and virtual.
